The editorial team of CSI-NSIT Students‘ Branch presents to you the seventh edition of its quarterly newsletter, Bits ‘n‘ Bytes. The previous 6 editions have covered diverse topics, from spreading awareness about Open Source and related tools to Cloud Computing, Web Development and Digital Security and many more. This time we have expanded our interests to a variety of fields with the cover issue on the fastest growing mobile OS, Android. This edition cover a wide array of topics which include the eternal Browser Wars, Dell latest plunge into the smartphone industry- Dell Streak. We have also covered XSS and Cryptography exploring the field of network security.For all the gamers out there, we bring you NVIDIA Tegra and also a way of running your favorite games without a graphics Card -Graphic Emulators. We have introduced the new Tips and Tricks section where you will learn, running a MAC OS on Windows, apart from the inclusion an exciting Programming Competition under the Programmer's Corner. The editorial team of CSI-NSIT Students‘ Branch presents to you the sixth edition of its quarterly newsletter, Bits ‘n‘ Bytes. The previous 5 editions have covered diverse topics, from spreading awareness about Open Source and related tools to Web Development and Digital Security. This edition further diversifies the focused area as the prime focus shifts to the fast rising concept of CLOUD COMPUTING. The ‘non techy’ readers may not fret. The newly induced section namely PROGRAMMER’s SECTION is targeted for the amateur programmers and provides a great platform to start (a SIG has also been formed in this regard). The article on i-series PROCESSORS will surely be an interesting read, as today’s generation has a keen interest on “what’s inside” their system. The MAEMO 5 REVIEW has been very smartly compiled and is sure to catch the reader’s attention. This edition is diversified by the inclusion of SEO REPORT, VECTOR GRAPHICS and a review of currently the most famous video game – ASSASSIN’S CREED-II. This edition, for the first time, also includes the 1st year experiences of students, and how they made it through in the best possible ways.

The  editorial  team  of  CSI-NSIT  Students’  Branch  presents  to  you  the  fifth edition of its quarterly newsletter,  Bits  ‘n’  Bytes.  While the first  two  editions  primarily  focused  on  spreading awareness about Open Source and related tools, the third and the fourth focused on Web Development and Digital Security respectively. This edition, however, diversifies the focused area  as  we  delve  into  topics  like  Animation and Visual Effects.  The  article  on  ‘Careers in Animation’ would hopefully  be  an  interesting  read.  The article ‘Lord of the Rings Trilogy - A Triumph of Special Effects ’  introduces  some  of most  powerful techniques  of  Visual Effects. Open Source does feature  in  the  form  of ‘Elephant’s Dream—An Open Source Dream’, an upcoming medium of communication. This edition, however, diversifies the focused area as we delve into topics like Digital Security and 3G Technology. The article on ‘All About Computer Viruses’ would hopefully be an interesting read. The ‘3G—Technology and its Evolution’ introduces one of most powerful ways of communication. The  editorial  team  of  CSI-NSIT  Students’  Branch  presents  to  you  the  third  edition  of  its quarterly  newsletter,  Bits  ‘n’  Bytes.  The  first  two  editions  primarily  focused  on  spreading awareness about Open Source and related tools.  This edition, however, diversifies the focused area  as  we  delve  into  topics  like  Web  Development,  Hardware.  The  article  on  ‘Hot  New Technologies’  would  hopefully  be  an  interesting  read.  The  ‘IRC  Prelude’  introduces  one  of most  powerful  ways  of  communication  over  the  web. Also  included  are  the  experiences  of Tarun Tandon, as a member and  the  current Vice-Chairperson of CSI-NSIT. Open Source does feature  in  the  form  of Open  Source  alternatives  for  the most  popular  proprietary  software and a guide for installing Ubuntu Linux OS alongside an existing Windows OS (Dual-Boot).
