The 4th Annual Linux Asia Conference was held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi from 31st January, 2007 to 2nd February, 2007. CSI – NSIT Students Branch formed an NSIT Linux Community, and participated in the conference with along with the branch convener Dr.M.P.S. Bhatia. The registration procedure and other logistical arrangements were done by the student members of CSI NSIT. Over 150 students from NSIT attended the conference over the three days. The students benefited a lot, by finding out about the recent advancements in the field of software/application development.
Apart from attending various technical lectures, the students also got an opportunity to meet many industry representatives. They found out about the kind of work being done in various companies. They also made many contacts with professors who directed them to many Open Source projects. The students were very enthusiastic about contributing to the Open Source Community after attending the technical talks. Dr Bhatia encouraged students to participate and involve themselves in many more activities to quip themselves with the latest industry information.
