The EDC (Entrepreneurship Development Cell), in collaboration with the CSI-NSIT Students Branch, organized a 3-day awareness camp at NSIT from 29-31st August 2007. The seminar encompassed widely varied aspects of entrepreneurship and was attended by over 100 students.
The first day witnessed Wing Commander Ashwin Kapoor emphasizing on leadership, commitment and motivation. A number of interactive sessions took place encouraging a new thought process in the students.
Two sessions were conducted on the 30th of August. In the first session Dr. Abhinav Mathur, an alumnus of NSIT, along with Mr. Nitin Gupta spoke at length on a venture they had started viz. “Schools on Web”. Mr. K Shankar and Mr. Vikas Vineet, on behalf of Andhra Bank, conducted the 2nd session on bank loans & procedures and advances to budding entrepreneurs. They brought forth the aspects involved in the much important start up capital.
The concluding day witnessed a number of speakers including Mr. Vivek Jain and Mr. Nitin Katariya (NSIT Alumni) who spoke on various steps involved in setting up enterprises keeping the current situation in mind. Also present was Mr. Sushil Chandra from the DRDO, giving a brief introduction on the advancements in Bio-Medical engineering. Two of our students viz. Anoop Gupta and Ankita wrapped up the 3-day session by giving a presentation on B-Plans (having won the prestigious B-Plan competition organized at IIT-D).
