Year 2006 - 2007

The 4th Annual Linux Asia Conference was held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi from 31st January, 2007 to 2nd February, 2007. CSI – NSIT Students Branch formed an NSIT Linux Community, and participated in the conference with along with the branch convener Dr.M.P.S. Bhatia. The registration procedure and other logistical arrangements were done by the student members of CSI NSIT. Over 150 students from NSIT attended the conference over the three days. The students benefited a lot, by finding out about the recent advancements in the field of software/application development.

The annual Regional Student Convention was held on 25th February 2007 at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications & Management. The team of four students namely Hemant Goyal, Sahil Singla, Deepank Gupta and Akshit Aggarwal represented CSI group from NSIT. It was a great pedestal for the team to interact with the members of the CSI BVP Students branch and exchange many ideas about different inter–college events that could be organized in the future.

Computer Society of India - NSIT Student Branch commenced its workshop on JAVA CORE from Jan 21, 2007. This 10 hour workshop was delivered by DILIP KUMAR SINGH, highly experienced personnel in the field of Java. Around 50 NSIT students attended this workshop out of which 31 were CSI members.

This event was a huge success.

A seminar on ‘Pursuing Higher Education Abroad’ was organised at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology on 18th April, 2007. The seminar saw a gathering of more than 150 NSIT-ians, aspiring to make a mark in MS/MBA in foreign universities of high international repute.
