Why the need of SIG?
We would say that the general lack of interest in programming is our main driving force. We in SIG want to motivate students and ignite the passion for programming. If you are into Programming,Web Development or Operating Systems, then you are welcome. Even if you are not you are still welcome, we will help you out. As of now due to lack of initiatives and somewhat due to non competitive environment in field of programming and web development, we don’t have good performances in competitions except for few. So making groups, taking part in discussions, doing coding really helps you out in the long run. And ya bit of competition never hurts anybody.
What is our Aim?
Already discussed above but still our primary aim is to motivate environment suitable for programming and web development and form teams to take part in Programming competitions and Tech fests. Also we we will be organizing some competitions among ourselves for NSITians as well.
We are looking forward for 1st and 2nd year student to be part of initiative and as they are relatively less occupied than their senior counterparts, the time is ripe for them to start coding. Also 3rd and 4th year students will be assigned as mentors for them, not as group as of now but as general mentoring. For discussions, we have made our Google groups which will mode of discussions for various topics regarding the same.
